Advantage of Posting Articles on Your Own Site

We all know that articles are one of the best sources for getting backlinks and traffic to a website. Unique are quality articles are powerful sources for link building and traffic generation. The articles should be promoted properly in order to get links and better traffic.

The main process of article promotion done is the submission of our article on various article submission sites. Most of the article submission sites allows to post add links on our articles which points to our main website. By doing this we would be getting a quality backlink to our sites and getting such back links on famous article sites such as EzineArticles, ArticlesBase etc would certainly boost the search engine rankings of our website.

But these article submission sites have many disadvantages which may affect your search engine prospects in the long run. In my opinion most of these directories are not having any particular theme and  a large number of articles related to different categories are being submitted every day. This results in your article being pushed down into the archives and making it difficult for the search engines to find out your articles after a particular time period.

This can be avoided if you post your article on your own website. If your articles are compelling and well written, other sites would obviously link back to your article and hence you would be getting quality backlinks to your site. On the other hand if your high quality articles are posted on an article directory, other people will link to your article on that directory and in this case the article directory is getting the advantage of backlinks. On the other hand if the articles are posted on your own site, your site would be getting the benefits of back links.

This doesn’t mean that we need to neglect the article submission part. We still have to submit the articles in some of the best articles directories as it would also help in getting back links. It would be better if we can make slight variations to the articles that are being submitted to article directories.
